origami Cat Seta 3D

Preparation

  • Material: 1 square sheet of origami paper (recommended size: 15cm x 15cm).
  • Setup: Place the paper on a flat surface with the colored side facing down.

Step-by-Step Folding Process
Phase 1: Creating the Base Creases
  1. The Diagonal Fold: Fold the square paper in half diagonally to form a large triangle, then unfold it to leave a crisp center crease.
  2. Kite Fold: Fold both the left and right bottom corners inward so their edges line up perfectly with the center crease.
  3. The Top Triangle: Take the sharp top corner point and fold it straight down to meet the edge of your previous folds.
Phase 2: Shaping the Body and 3D Volume
  1. Vertical Fold: Fold the entire model in half vertically along the main center line. The folded flaps should now be trapped inside.
  2. Forming the Legs: Turn the model horizontally. Fold the bottom edge slightly upward on both sides to create parallel creases that act as the front and back paws.
  3. Pop Out the Base: Gently open the bottom of the folded structure from underneath. Push your finger inside to widen the hollow belly base, making it flat enough so the cat structure stands upright on its own.
Phase 3: Crafting the Head & Feline Ears
  1. The Head Tilt: Take the pointed front end of the paper structure and make an inside reverse fold upward to position the head area.
  2. Shaping the Face: Fold the sharp top point downward slightly to form a flat forehead.
  3. Creating the Ears: Pull the small excess paper corners on both sides of the head area outward and upward to create two sharp, pointy cat ears.
Phase 4: Finalizing the Tail
  1. The Tail Fold: Go to the rear end of the body. Make an inside reverse fold pushing the tail section upward.
  2. Tail Crimp: Crimp or fold the very tip of the tail downward to give it a lifelike, curved posture.
