origami Cockroach 3D

Making a 3D origami cockroach with a realistic, rounded body can be done using a single square sheet of paper without any glue.
Here are the step-by-step instructions for a semi-complex 3D model that forms a lifelike body shape, wings, and legs
Realistic 3D Model Steps
  1. Paper Preparation: Use a 20x20 cm square sheet of origami paper in brown, black, or dark red-brown.
  2. Initial Base Folds: Fold the paper diagonally into a triangle, then unfold. Fold both outer edges inward toward the center crease to create a kite base.
  3. Forming the Head: Fold the top pointed tip downward, then make a small reverse or pleat fold back upward to create a thick, layered head section.
  4. Shaping the Legs: Flip the paper over and pull the inner layers outward to the left and right sides to shape 6 pointed tips that serve as the legs.
  5. Adding 3D Curvature: Fold the entire model in half lengthwise (mountain fold), then slightly open it back up so the body curves upward instead of staying completely flat. Bend the leg tips downward so the model can stand.
